Adverbs |
Spanish adverbs are conceptually simpler than adjectives because adverbs never adjust to gender and number. Moreover, many adverbs can be derived from adjectives in a well-defined fashion. However, there are also many adverbs which do not follow this pattern. We will cover both types of adverbs, focussing on the latter type. In the section on the comparative we work out the differences between the English and the Spanish comparative/superlative of an adjective or an adverb. In the final section on the gerund we shall see that the Spanish gerundio is less flexible than the English gerund because the former can only be used in adverbial expressions.
